Air velocity in turbo piping is critical for maintaining throttle response and preventing pressure drop. If the velocity is too low (< 200 FPS), you may experience sluggish throttle response due to excessive pipe volume. If the velocity is too high (> 400 FPS), you create unnecessary restriction, causing the turbo to work harder (higher backpressure) to reach the same boost target, often leading to compressor surge or heat soak.
