Always measure fork oil levels with the springs removed and the fork tubes fully compressed (bottomed out) unless specified otherwise by the manufacturer service manual.
1. Preparation: Ensure the motorcycle is securely supported with the front wheel off the ground.
2. Access: Remove the fork caps and extract the springs and damper rods/spacers if applicable.
3. Compress: Slide the fork tube down fully into the slider (fully bottomed out position).
4. Fill: Add slightly more oil than the calculated volume.
5. Measure: Use a fork oil syringe or level tool. Measure the distance from the top of the inner tube to the top of the oil level. Adjust by removing excess oil until the gap matches your target calculation.
