Calculate sensor motion blur based on subject speed, magnification, and strobe duration.
Quick Presets
The Math: Motion blur on the sensor is calculated by multiplying the Subject Speed (mm/s) by the Magnification Ratio (giving speed on sensor) multiplied by your Flash Duration (s).
Circle of Confusion: This calculator uses a general threshold of 0.01mm for "Perfect" results. Anything above 0.03mm is typically considered visible motion blur at 100% crop, potentially requiring faster flash durations or lower magnification.
Note: This is a mathematical approximation. Real-world results will vary based on camera resolution, sensor size, and the specific motion path of the subject relative to the sensor plane.
