The crop factor is a multiplier that describes the ratio of a camera sensor's imaging area compared to a standard 35mm film frame (Full Frame). Because smaller sensors capture a narrower portion of the lens's projection, they produce a "zoomed-in" effect.
To find the equivalent field of view, we multiply your physical lens focal length by the crop factor. For example, a 50mm lens on an APS-C camera (1.5x factor) provides the same field of view as a 75mm lens would on a Full Frame camera.
